Zach Nelson’s passion for homebuilding comes from his grandpa, who built homes in the Norfolk area.
An Elkhorn native, Zach has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. His professional background includes estimating and managing multimillion-dollar projects in the commercial, industrial and residential construction markets. In 2014, he formed Echelon Homes.

The business has become a family affair. Many of the designs trends you’ll see featured in Echelon projects are inspired by Zach’s wife Chelsea. Zach and Chelsea live in Elkhorn with their two children.

Matt Ramm spent his summers as a teenager working on his family’s Holt County ranch and working as a carpenter for a local homebuilder. That construction experience led him to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with a degree in construction management. (He was also a thrower for UNL’s Track and Field team. Go Huskers.) Matt estimated and managed large-scale commercial projects around the Omaha metro area for a decade before joining Echelon in 2018. He’s excited to return to his roots and build beautiful homes for clients. Matt and his wife Emily live in Gretna with their son.
